Leo Liang – 2025 Templeton Dux
The Templeton Dux is awarded to the student with the highest academic results at the end of Grade 6. The winner is judged according to results in English, Mathematics, History, Geography and Science. The award is presented at Grade 6 Graduation by the Principal Rod McKinlay.

Sporting Excellence
We’re not just an academic school.
We are extremely proud of our sporting accomplishments at Templeton. Since joining the Rowville District in 2011, we have been crowned District Premiers on countless occasions in Interschool Sport, Athletics, Swimming, Hoop Time and Cross Country. We have 108 Premiers Flags at the District Level, with 45 of those teams proceeding to Division. We have 12 State Representative athletes and teams, with a further 14 reaching National Level. Six AFL players have worn the Green and Gold Tigers uniform in football, with Riak Andrew, Mac Andrew and Blake Drury our latest draftees to make the big time.

Logos
The famous green and gold.
Foundation Logo
1980 – 2001
The Foundation Logo was introduced when the school opened in 1980. The design consists of 8 ‘T’s surrounding a circle, all in Lincoln Green. Our now traditional Gold was not introduced to the uniform until the 1990s.
Millenium Logo
2001 – 2021
The new Millennium ushered a new Principal and new logo at Templeton in 2000. Our Gold was introduced, and a new image to replace the circular ‘T’. It was decided by School Council that three figures representing the Student, Parent and Teacher would be the new logo, with Federation Green replacing Lincoln Green.
New Era Logo
2022 –
Our current logo was changed in 2022 to better reflect our status as a destination school in Victoria. The colours were inverted to highlight the Gold, and ‘Melbourne, Australia’ replaced Primary School to distinguish the school from other schools in the area.
Sports Logo
2023 –
In line with our new House Logos, the Templeton Sports Logo was introduced in 2023 as a fearsome reminder of our dominance in Interschool Sport. The Templeton Tigers concept was introduced by ardent Tigers fan Terry McConnell in the 1980s, and current Principal and Richmond fanatic Mr McKinlay was more than happy to incorporate that into the new Sports Logo.
History
Our story.
Templeton Primary School is a Victorian State Government Prep to Grade 6 school situated in Wantirna, an Outer Eastern suburb in the City of Knox.
Templeton was opened in 1980 with an enrolment of around 70 students. The school provides an excellent specialist program with Physical Education, ICT, Art, Library, Music, Performing Arts and LOTE offered throughout the school. Our aim is to equip our students with self management, educational and interpersonal skills to approach life with confidence.
An integral part of our tradition is to nurture in our students a sense of PRIDE IN PERFORMANCE which is our school motto.
The school strives towards:
- Creating a safe, caring and supportive learning environment that is stimulating and challenging.
- Providing a high quality, balanced educational program for all students.
- Fostering a culture of optimism, resilience and tolerance
