Student Leadership
Setting the example.
Our School Captains and Vice Captains are chosen by the Principal at the end of the school year. Candidates are required to present a speech to all members of staff highlighting why they are the best candidate for the leadership team, with two girls and two boys chosen to represent Templeton the following year. The School Captains and Vice Captains have a responsibility to not only lead the school cohort, but to host a weekly assembly and represent Templeton at network events.

Our four Templeton Houses are named after four Australian sporting legends, Greg Chappell, John Newcombe, Shane Gould and Raelene Boyle. Under our Programs tab, you can find further information about each of these legends, and their significance in Australian Sport. Our House Captains present a speech to students in Grade 4-6, with the final decision ratified by Management at the start of each school year. There is a similar process to select 3/4 Sports Captains, who setup and help run 3/4 Sport every week on a Thursday afternoon.
Our Student Councillors are elected by their peers at the beginning of each year. Those elected attend Student Council Meetings, organising fundraising days, lunch orders and other school events. Our Student Council is chaired by our School Captains and Vice-Captains, and supervised by Mrs Schanssema and Mr Graham.
